Join us for this engaging design workshop! In The Climate Justice Mural Project, we will focus on the tangible steps needed to get us to a future where we can all thrive. This workshop brings together artists, volunteers, and subject matter experts. These experts (you!) are members of our community and will include representatives from the Thurston Climate Action Team's (TCAT) Climate Action groups (Buildings, Transportation, Equity, Youth, Trees and Agriculture).
The workshop will be part climate education, part visioning, and part art-making. You do not need to be an artist to contribute! Together, we will co-design this mural, combining participants’ experiences and solutions for climate change, COVID, and racial justice with art, resulting in an inspiring, collaborative design for the mural. The mural will include imagery that represents tangible actions needed to create the thriving future we envisioned during The Chrysalis Project: Transforming Together.
The workshop is free to attend. If you are able, making a donation will increase our capacity to create an AMAZING Climate Justice Mural!
The workshop will be held in person at Priest Point Park. It is limited to 50 people to meet COVID safety regulations. All COVID safety protocols will be followed. If COVID regulations do not allow for in-person gatherings at the time, the workshop will be held via Zoom.
The mural will be painted in Olympia later this summer. All are welcome to put paint on the wall!
